Easter 2009

Romans 1:4-5 And Jesus Christ our Lord was shown to be the Son of God when God powerfully raised him from the dead by means of the Holy Spirit. Through Christ, God has given us the privilege and authority to tell Gentiles everywhere what God has done for them, so that they will believe and obey him, bringing glory to his name.

Bunny, eggs, brunch,Jesus, family,it all adds up to being thankful for what we have and who we have in our lives.

Oh yes, its that time of year where we all run to target at the last minute and grab whatever you can find and even toys that you really know your kids don't need, to fill their Easter baskets with. Plus lets not forget the fun of boiling eggs and dying them... and they have so many different ways now with tie dye, and stickers and wraps, and wow when I was a kid it was plastic and maybe a piece of candy inside ha ha
This year I woke up to Makenzie screaming that the Easter Bunny had been here. The bunny hides the baskets... but leads the kids down the stairs with candy...its a bunny thing ya know.

The kids colored eggs the night before, and also the night before that with the babysitter. So we had a nice selection of colorful eggs for the bunny to hide.

After the egg hunt at home, we all got ready and went to the Country Club for brunch with my sister Shawna and her family and my brother Ryan and his family. All the kids looked so cute and all were well behaved, I was pretty shocked but everyone held it together.

Afterwards we went to Ryan's house and had a egg hunt, relaxed, chatted, spent time outside while all the kids played, had a late lunch, and then after the sugar high we decided to call it a night. On the way home Logan fell asleep with a orange cupcake and Makenzie was a chatter box!

But let us not forget the real reason of the holiday and that this is a Sunday set aside to recognize the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. GOD sent his WORD in the form of a child, being born to Mary the Virgin as God's only Begotten Son. He lived a very short time on earth, having been a carpenter and then God's messenger the last three years or so of his life. He was crucified, nailing all our sins to the cross, covering them with his precious blood. If we believe in him, accept his eternal gift of salvation, then we too will see him in all his Glory one day!

Philippians 3:10-12 I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.
