You don't choose your family. They are God's gifts to you,as you are to them. ~Desmond Tutu

I have been out of the blog loop for a little while and thought I would start back with some misc. pictures of the 2 little ones. This month Aslynn is 16 months and Bryce is 19 months. They are both doing really great, and we are so proud of them both. Aslynn amazes us everyday with tons of new words, hugs out of nowhere, fully bonded, she is so integrated into the family, its like she was here from birth. Bryce we still are working through all our surprises we were unaware of and still attaching as he had to have been through some rough times growing up that he really blocks off people and the world. He would rather be alone and in his crib than out and bout and with others. He pushes love away, but we just keep sharing and giving, we are slowly breaking that shell, along with helping him overcome eating and gaining a little weight. I need to measure him, his legs look longer, and he has been eating hamburger and other foods that he has been holding down, he is progressing in many ways, we hope he will know we are his forever family build the trust if his mind will allow it even though he is special needs, and we can help him with the resources possible so he can grow and become the fullest God allows him to be.
We do have our daily battles, it is challenging and at times I do have my moments, but I know he was sent here to our home for a reason and we as a family are strong and will push through the rough times.
Makenzie is doing wonderful in school, she loves her after school classes. She does cooking, dance, chess club, and golf..she picked these all, I know she is crazy :) but doing great, she moved up a level in math!
Logan loves preschool and the teacher said he tests higher for his level, enjoys his friends, we shaved his Mohawk off for a new look as he turns 4 this Wednesday, sad he is growing up so fast.
Everyone is doing the best we can right now, scabies comes and goes, and we are beating to the best we can and keep on trucking through life. We know that 2010 will be a fresh new year and change for everyone.
Many blessings to you all, hope everyone's referrals are coming in quick, traveling is going great, and enjoying their new little ones that are just arriving home.

They are cuties - good to hear how much things are progressing with Bryce - it takes time, but he is consistently making progress - awesome! Happy b-day to Logan!
Leah,
Keep on with your work with Bryce. It sounds like a similar situation with our son, now home for 18 months. I wish the process was quicker, but if I look back to the beginning, I can see progress. It will happen for you too. In the meantime, cherish all the smiles and milestones that seem small but are really so big!
I am sure he is making progress. Sometimes it is hard to see the little steps when you are in the middle of them. Keep your head up. We love you :)
I hope you continue to make progress with your son and that he trusts in you all and knows that you are his forever family. It sounds like he is definitely making progress. :-D
They both look great! Amazing what a lot of love can do. Great job mamma! And kudos to both MaKenzie and Logan....way to go you guys!
Oh Leah, the babies look wonderful!! I am so happy for
Bryce and his progress - I love your attitude and God will continue to provide!
It feels great to have those days where you see the work is actually paying off a bit, doesn't it? We've had some roughness here and there, too. Nothing like what you guys have been thru with Bryce... So glad he's with you guys, got YOU TWO, for the long haul.
