Just got back from our annual beach house trip. It was a blast this year, but flew by so fast I feel like we did not see all of the family. I did not get as many pictures as I would have liked to so I will post mine and when Shawna sends me hers, I will share those as well. We hit the beach, had a surprise 50th party for my father on the beach at the Hotel Del Coronado, private fireworks, friends and family flew in from all over, did professional pictures (when we get those back I will post), Disneyland, and a million more things I just cant even think of. I finally got to meet Tonya in person as we just blog and chat all the time so that was fun. The kids had such a great time and a week with Jon is always priceless. The weather was perfect, the family was perfect, and we kept thinking that next year we will have our little addition to share all our special moments with us. Alaska cruise is Saturday! The countdown is ON baby! Washing laundry....just to pack it again, plus shopping for formal nights since I want to dress up at the dinners hee heee
I need to start taking more pictures of the moments, the kids were catching all these slimy snails it was nasty, kenzie was smuggling them over the boarder, and we were to tired by the end of the trip. Makenzie starts Church of Joy Kindergarten when we get back from Alaska, so sad, full time! sniff sniff, the fist day of the rest of her life, my little baby... I think I am the one that is dramatized not her...boo hoo

USCIS

If through a broken heart God can bring His purposes to pass in the world, then thank Him for breaking your heart.
(Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest)

Shawna emailed me a collection of wonderful Ethiopia pictures, here are a few that grabbed my attention!
Yippy we got our papers back from USCIS, which was our I600-A sent to homeland security, in return they send back a I- 171H. I got all the paperwork together (about 60 or more sheets of paper, all notarized) and went down to the secretary of state to get them officially sealed. I got them all sealed except they would not do 2 of them because the notary signed wrong, and Jon's birth certificate needed to be sent to California to get State Authenticated.

Monday I tracked down the 2 notaries, got those documents fixed, than overnight California Jon's birth certificate, they said would take 2 weeks, BUT I got it back yesterday, and after going back down to the Secretary of State again, I got them all state sealed authenticated, got my whole Dossier DONE, and it went over night to Oregon yesterday. WE are all so excited.

Next step is it goes to DC, gets hand carried, wait for approval, than back to Oregon and headed to Ethiopia where it will be approved and a picture of our daughter sent to us. Time frame depends on the courts there, the season, and just the country. Of course I will keep everyone posted!

This summer is going to be jammed back with trips, waiting for approvals and court dates, and hopefully a baby daughter before Christmas. We will see what God has in store for us.

Chuckie Cheese...I do it for the kids

Jon works by a chuckie cheese so we met him for lunch. That place drive me nuts, but of course I still go since the kids for some reason just love it. A few pictures for your entertainment.

4th of July 2008

It was a windy day but we still had a blast. After the afternoon of swimming, lunch and naps we went to the Surprise Stadium to watch the fireworks. A huge line for dinner, late fireworks but the kids had a blast painting on ceramic stones, seeing all the events and the clowns.

Happy July America.

After School Painting

After school we met up with some friends and did some pottery painting, we love making new pieces and "useful" ones. I hate getting the little junk things that you know are just going to sit around. We starting to collect the cups, plates and bowls because we know we will always use them!

Arizona Science Center Grossology

We spent a nice Sunday afternoon at the Arizona Science Center. We went down there just to let the kids hang at the regular part of it, but they were having a special attraction of Grossology. It was kinda... gross...but educational at the same time. A lot about farting, burping poop, etc etc but all education and some neat examples and video. It was a good day, and we love the little bistro they have to grab a bite to eat. Plus a stop at the Biltmore (Saks) and dessert at Cheese Cake Factory.

Birthday Dinner

HAPPY BIRTHDAY.... TO ME!

Finally... a celebration dinner for my 29th birthday. We decided to head out to Scottsdale and go to Ferrellis Cinema Supper Club. It was a BLAST!!!! We arrived and everyone hung out in the bar/waiting area, it looks very old fashion theatre. Than we were greeted and sat at our reserved table in a huge room that has a big movie screen. The menu was the best, and the food was to die for! During the movie we ate dinner, and had a call button on the table in case we needed anything. After the movie we had dessert and I got my favorite "Happy Birthday" song!

We had a great night of dining, movie, and friends all in 1 location. It was fun and I cant wait to go back!

High School Musical...The Play

On Saturday Makenzie and I had a "girls" day out with Shawna and Paris. We went down to Mill Ave and shopped (Urban Outfitters was a total jackpot with cute stuff) and than we headed over to see High School Musical... The Play. It was a nice Saturday afternoon and the girls scored some great memorabilia stuff.
