"How much of human life is lost in waiting"
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
We are all anxiously waiting in the adoption world for the courts to open back up after their holiday/rain season in which they close their courts. No dates have been handed out for a few months, we have all been on pins and needles because this lets us know when we are represented at court, and when we will be flying. Normally they say 3-4 weeks after the court date is given but I have seen sooner. I am hoping for a fly date for end of October of November sometime. It would be nice if Shawna was not in Uganda so she could go with Jon and I on the trip there. I don't know if putting in for a son will slow down our process, make it to where our court date is later, and we wont get Aslynn until a later date. If this is the case, I am going to take it as a sign from God that it was not meant to be to bring 2 home and know that Aslynn is the one we get alone. The experience alone going to the orphanage will be amazing, the country, the place we will be staying at, the town Addis Ababa, the history, etc etc... a trip of a life time and also bring home our daughter for sure and possibly a son. YES I will have my hands full, but in a good way!
Logan and Makenzie and excited. They love kids and to have more kids to play with, what fun.
We will see... today is the 27th of Sept 2008 and we have 4 more days until Oct 1st, 2008. The adoption agency will start passing out court dates, but wow it will be NUTS as its been SO back logged from these passed months and think of ALL the agencies, all the families, all the kids, etc etc... who knows what # we are in line! Hopefully Radu (my adoption wonder man) can work his magic! Keep us in your prays

Okay, just read back to yoru referral date...Also read about your tough time with fam and friends input being kind of tough with the adoption...I HAVE SOOOO BEEN THERE! I totally get it. I spent a few months worrying and questioning how God could lead us to adopt from Ethiopia when my family was so unsupportive...Little did I know what He had in store. We have been through some really tough conversations, weeks, even motnhs with some of the people I love the most...And in that time Goad has been doing some HUGE stuff in their hearts.
I wish I had been following your blog earlier, so I could have known that I was not along in this!
Hope everything is going better.
For me, once I knew that THIS WAS MY PATH, I FINALLY let go of my family/friends issues with it, and then not much later, I began to see them come around

Thinking of you and praying for you!! :)
Radu the wonder man.....LOVE the title. It would be so nice to know where we stand as far as how many are ahead of us. I'm going to be stalking every blog I can to see what dates are being handed out.
Praying that you get your court date soon (cause of course, once you get yours, I will be right behind).
